Buttercream Frosting (Grandma Obermoeller)

5 T sifted cake flour

1 c milk

¼ lb butter (1 stick)

¼ lb margarine (1 stick)

1 c sugar

1 tsp vanilla

Stir cake flour with milk.  On low heat cook and stir until smooth and thick – about 5-7 minutes.  Cool.  Beat butter and margarine; add sugar gradually and beat until smooth. Add flour paste and beat until light and fluffy.  Beat in vanilla and frost cake.
