Cherry Coffee Cake

2 cups sifted flour

1 cup sugar

2 tsp. baking powder

1/4 pound butter

1 egg – beated

milk

1 lb. 6oz can cherry pie filling

Topping

1 cup flour

1 cup sugar

1/4 pound butter

Sift together flour, sugar and baking powder. Cut in butter, as for piecrust. Break egg into cup and add sufficient milk to make 1 cup of liquid. Beat egg into milk. Add to flour mixture; mix well.  Pour into greased and floured 9x13 pan. Spread pie filling over batter.

For topping – sift flour and sugar; cut in butter.  Sprinkle mixture over pie filling in pan.  Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
